We can replace your windows with new whether they are sliding sash windows or casements and where possible, we can refurbish windows, when a full replacement may not be necessary.

K&D Joinery operates from our 50,000 sq. ft factory, and Head Office in East London. Our estimating, technical drawings, milling processes, assembly, spray finishing, glazing and ironmongery installation are all carried out by our dedicated staff, in the same facility.
With a team of four K&D full-time surveyors covering the London area, all with over 20 years’ experience we make every effort to survey within a few days of contact or an order being placed, our surveyor will be happy to assist with any product or installation queries you may have.
Our estimating department will provide you with a quotation for the purpose made joinery you require and our delivery and installation services.
They will be able to answer any questions you may have on design, choice of materials, finishes and assist with lead times and our payment terms.
Following our survey and an instruction, our CAD office will produce a full set of CAD drawings for all of the items of joinery we will be manufacturing for you.
If you are not familiar with technical drawings they will assist in explaining them so you will have a clear understanding of the bespoke joinery we will be producing for you.
We have years of experience in dealing with properties in conservation areas and also Heritage type projects with properties falling within both Grade I and Grade II listed buildings. In some incidences, where planning permission is being sort, our CAD team can provide the technical drawings to the correct scales as requested by your local planning office and work directly with them to assist in securing your planning permission (Please ask our Estimating Team about this service).
K&D have been producing purpose made traditional windows for over 40 years and are regarded as one of the leading manufactures in the South East of England. Following approval of our CAD drawings we can move the windows into production.
We use a number of different species of timber to produce our windows which enables us to provide new windows to suit our client’s budgets. All timber materials are carefully selected to ensure we are providing a high quality finished product every time. All the materials we use are sourced from companies guaranteeing fully sustainable products. We are able to provide a full chain of custody and Forest Stewardship Council ( FSC ) Certification if required.
K&D's factory uses the latest CNC machines and now has 6 fully operational lines working along side our fully functioning timber mill to produce high quality timber window components enabling our joiners to assemble our superb windows ready for installation.
All our windows are spray finished in our own spraying facilities. Our 4 spray booths factory apply 4 coats of exterior micro-porous paint. An under-coat and primer and two top coats in our standard white, to RAL 9016.
Our team of sanders and sprayers have years of experience in the preparation and application of all sorts of paint finishes onto our windows.
We can paint match any colour from well-known paint manufacturers like Farrow & Ball and The Little Green Paint Company and often are asked to dual finish windows with different colours applied to the internal and external faces.
All of our installation teams are full time employees of K&D Joinery, we never sub-contact out the installation of our bespoke joinery.
Our fitters have years of experience installing windows in all types of situations and are fully aware of the importance of protecting any furniture and flooring in the vicinity of the new windows being installed.
Following installation our fitters will make a point of leaving the area around any newly installed joinery clear and tidy.
All our timber windows come with warranties which are determined by your choice of timber and finish.
• K&D Joinery Ltd will guarantee that all wood components used will be free from defective materials or defective workmanship that would affect performance for a 30 Year period when fully finished to an industry standard.
• All ironmongery such as hinges and handles will be warranted for 10 years to be free from functional failure.
• Our sash cord is guaranteed for 10 years.
• K&D Joinery Ltd guarantee that the units will be free from defects - ie: no moisture will leak into the air space between the panes (misting up) for 10 years for standard (4mm float /16mm 90% Argon Filled /4mm LowE) and 7 years for ‘Slim’ Units (4mm Float / 4mm or 6mm or 8mm Krypton 90% Filled / 4mm Low E).
• The surface treatment for fully finished joinery is warranted for 7 years for Opaque finish subject to the conditions stated by the Paint manufacturer.
• No warranty can be given against any clear finish to any internal or external clear finished project.

Timber windows are a good choice for improving the energy efficiency of a home, and can have several benefits.
• Our double glazed engineered softwood sliding sash box frame windows have been tested and certificated by the British wood working Federation BWF to have a U Value of 1.2 W/m2K.
• Our double glazed engineered softwood casement windows have been tested and certificated by the British wood working Federation BWF to have a U Value of 1.3 W/m2K.
• Our standard double glazed units tested in our windows were manufactured as follows: 4mm low iron glass /8mm Krypton filled spacer / 4mm Climaguard LowE CGA.
• Low-e glass is the most efficient way to save energy, and help to protect the environment, through glazing. This coating reduces the amount of heat lost through a window by reflecting the heat generated inside the building back into the room.
To be able to constantly produce high quality windows that will maintain their appearance and provide our clients with a lasting product that functions correctly for many years requires careful selection of the core materials to manufacture them from. K&D Joinery use a range of timbers to manufacture our windows from.
Our standard is Engineered softwood which is an enhanced timber product which is manufactured from selected defect free softwood timber sections that are laminated and “finger-jointed” together to form an extremely stable product from which we machine our timber window components.
In addition to this, we can manufacture using an Engineered Hardwood material which is manufactured like the softwood,
using only selected defect free sections of hardwood. Tests have proven that engineered timber components are 60% stronger that a piece of normal solid timber. It also improves the finish of the timber when put through our extensive spraying and finishing processes.
Our third option is to use Accoya which starts its life as a softwood, known as Radiata Pine. It then under goes a chemical treatment known as an acetylation process. This makes the finished product extremely stable and also extremely durable making it an ideal material for external joinery.
All the timber materials we use are sourced from companies that guarantee the sustainability of the products and all raw materials are delivered to us with a full chain of custody and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification.
Whatever materials the windows are manufactured in the window sills are all produced in solid hardwood for extra durability.

All of our windows are supplied with traditional lockable high quality ironmongery, sourced from some of the leading UK manufacturers. Whether that is a sliding sash box frame window or a casement window, all the ironmongery is factory fitted following our preparation of the joinery by our highly accurate Computer Navigated Control (CNC ) state of the art machinery.
The ironmongery we install is available in a number of different finishes to suit your décor. Polished or satin Chrome, Polished or antique brass and a rubbed bronze finish. There are other finishes available so please ask one of our estimators for more information.
Following the delivery and installation of your new windows, K&D will provide you with a maintenance pack, providing information on maintaining and protecting your new windows.
