As an award-winning apprentice and going on to be a fully qualified joiner, Larry started making box frame windows in a small workshop under the railway arches in Leytonstone in London’s East End over 35 years ago. From these truly humble beginnings K & D Joinery now operates from a 50,000 ft2 factory facility on a one and a half acre site, employing over 100 members of staff who operate a timber milling operation, 6 CNC lines, joinery assembly workshops, spraying and glazing facilities, a fleet of delivery vehicles and provide
the joinery installation teams. Products include general joinery, windows, staircases, and cabinetry. In addition to the factory facilities the modern open plan offices provide space for the Estimating Department, a team of CAD Draughtsmen, meeting rooms, Production Managers, the HR Department, and an Accounts Office.
This transformation which includes having to deal with being forced to move his entire operation following London’s successful bid to host the 2012 Olympics, demonstrates Larry’s commitment over
the years, to not only investing in the infrastructure of the business, providing state of the art machinery and production facilities but also in creating a working environment that has enabled his team of staff to thrive and together, help the business to grow, establishing K & D Joinery Ltd. as one of the South East’s leading bespoke joinery manufacturers.
