Barnaby Bars - Covent Garden

Barnaby Bars is a boutique chocolate shop specialising in handmade chocolate bars inspired by nostalgic and distinctive flavour combinations. Drawing on the heritage of British chocolate-making and the village of Bournville, K&D worked closely with Built Works and Morrisstudio to translate this vision into the shopfront and interior design.

Located on Upper St Martin’s Lane, just minutes from Covent Garden and Leicester Square stations, the store occupies a prominent and highly trafficked position. The shopfront has been fully constructed from European Oak, using traditional tenon joints and tusk detailing, and finished using a Teknos coating system. A large glazed display forms the centre piece of the frontage, inviting passersby in while showcasing the freshly made chocolate products and creating a warm, welcoming presence on the street.

Inside, the walls are clad in oak pre-veneered MDF panels, framed with solid oak and factory finished in a Teknos system for consistency and ambience. Similarly, the bespoke bar unit was designed and manufactured to match the wall panelling, creating a cohesive and refined interior that reflects the craftsmanship and heritage at the heart of the brand.
